About Us

Coach Hayes Smith's vision was to provide players, including minority and under-served youth, an opportunity to participate in a quality baseball program, the Richmond Hornets Baseball Club program was established in 2009 as a minority-owned non-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving youth, ages 8 – 18.

Today we're excited to announce the newly formed Richmond Hornets by Hitters Count Sports.

Our staff of volunteer coaching professionals teach players the most efficient and effective skill-building methods and fundamentals of baseball with an emphasis on preparing them for the next levels of play in middle school, high school and, ultimately, college. In addition to player development, we focus on building character, leadership, respect, confidence and transforming athletes into future leaders both on the field and beyond the diamond.

Mission

Our mission is to provide superior coaching, mentoring and leadership opportunities for youth while encouraging a competitive level of amateur baseball skills, and to positively impact the lives of our players, their families and our communities.
